Their Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hakan Sezgin, talked about the transition to Nebim solutions, the positive changes in their system following this process and the advantages they have gained. Sezgin underlined that they have obtained a more orderly, faster and healthier structure with Nebim, and that they have more than reached the targets they set when they first started implementing Nebim solutions. ​ Can you please talk about the history and vision of So Chic? Sezgin Group has been active in the jewelry and accessories sector for nearly 60 years. As a local producer, as an importer and exporter as well as the unique concept retail manufacturer in Turkey, the company is one of the leaders in the industry. The first and most important step in the foundation of the company was taken in the silver jewelry workshop in Çemberlitaş. As the customer demands grew, the company moved to a modern workplace in Avcılar, Istanbul, in order to produce a bigger array of goods. Sezgin Group owns the brands Sezgin Jewels, So Chic, Fix Silver, Moj, Sezgin Watches and Rosy Diamond. Sezgin Jewels produces and exports silver jewelry and at the same time functions as the Turkey distributor of world-known watch brands. ​ Can you please talk about your transition to Nebim and the benefits provided to So Chic by Nebim? Before Nebim, we hadn’t been able to monitor our inventory accurately. Without the CRM data, the users in the headquarters couldn’t observe the retail sales and were not able to do the necessary monitoring. Following our transition to Nebim, we have started carrying out all of these transactions in an orderly and healthy fashion. We have started communicating with our customers thanks to Nebim’s Customer Relations Management application, which helps us to redirect our customers into our stores. ​ Thanks to Nebim Halogen business intelligence application, we obtain healthier sales and inventory reports. During the entire process, we have been able to reach healthier decisions thanks to the detailed reports. Therefore, our speed and efficiency has increased. ​ Before Nebim, we had many difficulties in managing our campaigns. In this context, we benefitted from the retail solutions of Nebim. With Nebim online store application, we can see the sales instantly and be more active in our campaigns. Retail sales campaigns application allows us to give out customer loyalty cards and to let them earn money points according to various parameters. Our customers can the use these money points during shopping according to their preference. Thanks to Nebim, we can define instant campaigns and this gives certain agility to our company. ​ What were your targets as you started using Nebim? ​ We wanted to monitor the sales in our existing retail stores and the inventory planning accurately, to create realistic plans based on the acquired reports and to track our business processes in a faster and more accurate way. We think that we have more than reached our goals. When we started using Nebim; campaign management, money point applications and sales management were among our targets too. We can say that we have reached all these targets. ​ Thanks to the many applications developed by Nebim, we can have faster and healthier feedback and we can determine our strategies more clearly. Can you please inform us about So Chic’s growth plans in the upcoming periods, both in Turkey and abroad? We intend to open 20 new stores in 2010. As we think the economy is going to improve further, we believe that this number can be increased up to 30. We already have one store in England and one in the Netherlands, and three stores in Cyprus. To open a store in Azerbaijan is among our targets. Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece are among the countries where we are currently making negotiations. Thank you.

We had to make our ERP transition in accordance with this. Our priority was to obtain fast and solution-oriented reports. We made our choice in favor of Nebim V3 ERP because we saw that it could meet our needs. With Nebim V3, we now have an integrated structure that is flexible in many ways which were not possible before. Let’s talk about the various contributions of Nebim V3: We started implementing multiple campaigns in our stores simultaneously with Nebim V3 POS. ​ Could you please talk about the foundation of SPX, a worldwide leading sports brand? ​ SPX was founded in 1989 under the name Sport Point. The aim was to move away from the sports stores focused on team sports and to develop a different retail culture by specializing in winter sports and racket sports. This first store was opened with love for sports, and it was to become a specialty store which sets a good example not only in Turkey but also in the world. The years went by and Sports Point improved itself; new products were added and team sports were completely excluded. Sometime during these years the word Extreme was added to the company name and the Sports Point Extreme logo was put into use. Now, the target was clear: to specialize in extreme and alternative sports. ​ New stores were then opened, and our store in Akatlar was opened in 1994 and then moved inside the Akmerkez mall. SPX continued to grow with new stores. A great range of innovative products were introduced to the Turkish market during this period of 25 years. The SPX stores on Bağdat Avenue and in Kızıltoprak, which were opened in 1997, were chosen to be the best winter specialty stores in Europe by Rossignol International and their images were distributed to the European skiing sector as a good example. ​ How did you become acquinted with Nebim? ​ In 2003, as we wanted to have a more systematic and orderly structure, our search for a program started. We were looking for the best. Nebim has significant experience, especially in the retail sector. Our group has been using Nebim Winner since 2003. Our collaboration with Nebim moved into the next level as we grew, and we started using the upgraded version, Nebim V3 ERP. It is important to work with an ERP team that knows the company infrastructure well. In this regard, we benefitted from collaborating with Nebim both during the transition phase and during the implementation. In the upcoming periods, we intend to use Nebim at our other group companies as well. ​ Could you please tell us about the reasons for choosing Nebim V3 ERP and its contributions to your business processes? ​ As mentioned in the answer to the previous question, our structure at Olgarlar was growing and improving rapidly. We had to make our ERP transition in accordance with this. Our priority was to obtain fast and solution-oriented reports. We made our choice in favor of Nebim V3 ERP because we saw that it could meet our needs. With Nebim V3, we now have an integrated structure that is flexible in many ways which were not possible before. Let’s talk about the various contributions of Nebim V3: We started implementing multiple campaigns in our stores simultaneously with Nebim V3 POS.Thanks to the improvements in product management, we can access all the details that we want in the reports, as color codes and size structures can be assigned without limits and thanks to various additional features. We can easily track the movements related to imports and exports files. We can calculate costs in an easier manner because we can automatically add the import costs to the related file. Thanks to the banking module, we can follow our business processes with the banks in the system more efficiently. Nebim V3 Business Partner structure allows us to manage our dealerships and franchises easily on the same system. ​ What are the future plans of your company? ​ Our strategic planning for the upcoming three years foresees a fast growth on the retail side. You will be seeing our SPX, Quiksilver and Vault stores at many places.

Respectable optician companies have come together and opened the first shop in February 2010. In a short period of time, Elegance Optik opened 70 stores in 29 cities. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kazım Ağca, talked about when and how Elegance Optik and Nebim have met, and what happened during the transition and adaptation process. ​ Would you please tell us about the history of Elegance Optik? Elegance Optik Shops is a project that started in 2008 in line with the changes in the optical retail sector. Elegance Optik Shops, Turkey’s biggest optical retail chain, was created with the investments of companies that have been active in import, production and distribution in the optical industry for over 25 years. Respectable optician companies have come together and opened the first shop in February 2010. In a brief period of time, Elegance Optik opened 70 stores in 29 cities. During this short time, the stores which joined the project have undergone a corporate transformation, and all staff at the stores and all store owners were included in training programs. With the power derived from the member stores, the project started to grow quickly, especially in regards to supply, advertisement and CRM activities. The Elegance Optik Shops have had considerable turnover increase. When and how did Nebim and Elegance Optik meet? Could you please talk about this transition and adaptation process? ​ Our history with Nebim dates back to 2006. We met the General Manager of Nebim Gold Solution Partner Verimsoft Software, Serhat Duras, at the optical fair. Verimsoft focuses especially on the optical sector within the Nebim family. The know-how of Duras included various aspects such as the importance of software use in the optical sector, the barcode system and many others. When he shared his knowledge and experience with us, our collaboration with Nebim started as Opak Glass and Elegance Optik Shop. At the meetings that we organized with the opticians with whom we carry out sales operations, the team of Nebim has not left our side and shared their experiences with us. Their business system impressed us. Thanks to the solution-oriented approach of Nebim Solution Partner Verimsoft team, our staff and our departments were swiftly able to focus on and to adapt the software we use at our company. ​ What were your targets as you selected Nebim? ​ Above all, it was vital for us that it is a system which can function easily and without problems in multi-store structures. From the beginning, there was awareness of the possible difficulties caused by the fact that our store chain is created by independent optical entities. Another target was to establish an efficient infrastructure and to have it supported quickly, in accordance with our fast growth. Other targets were to create the online structure, and to apply barcodes on the entire inventory in all our stores. In line with our multi-store approach, the software had to support us in transfers from headquarters to the stores, in reporting, and in counting. ​ Thinking about all these integrated solutions that we wanted to achieve in our entity, and also taking into consideration Nebim’s vast experience in the sector, collaborating with Nebim was nearly obligatory. At this point, we can say that we have reached our goals one by one and that we can manage our business processes in a healthier manner. ​ Nebim application are you using most efficiently? Could you mention its benefits? ​ We especially make efficient use of inventory management and retail sales management. Nebim business intelligence solution Halogen should be mentioned here as well. We can analyze data, make many strategic decisions, use CRM applications quickly and obtain results. With Nebim inventory management all stores function online, and effective product query screens, controlled transfers between the headquarters and the stores and product acceptance are among the convenient aspects which increase the productivity. Concerning the retail side, we can mention the eyeglass prescriptions monitoring, CRM applications which increase customer satisfaction, and the sales analyses with the details that we want. Additionally, the salesperson performance monitoring analyses are among the functions that we use most often and that increase our productivity considerably. ​ Nebim business intelligence solution Halogen is also used very efficiently in our entity. We can see the sales analyses of our stores multi-dimensionally and based on performance, thus we can access vital and accurate data. Thanks to this application, we can detect various issues quickly and this becomes a factor in our decision-making abilities. The comparative data of the current and previous year in our stores, and the category analyses are quite helpful in our enterprise. ​ Could you please talk about the plans of Elegance Optik for the future? Also, what are your plans regarding Nebim? ​ By then end of 2011, Elegance Optik will reach 100 stores. According to the targets in the beginning, stores will be opened outside Turkey as well, starting with Georgia in 2012. We aim at 300 stores within Turkey in three years. Stores outside Turkey will contribute to our growth. Especially in shopping malls, investment plans are going to be implemented, and our aim is to be one of the 10 biggest optical store chains in the world. Elegance Optik Shops have a training program planned for three years, and all staff is planned to improve and to comply with world standards. All management is under one corporate roof, and all managing will be done by a sleek organization at the headquarters. Elegance Optik will grow to be the most well-known optical store chain in Turkey by outsourcing IT, retail management, issues regarding becoming a corporate entity, marketing, advertisement and PR to experienced companies. ​ Parallel to these growth targets, we improve the software infrastructure in the best way and create the foundation of a long-term, sustainable relationship with Nebim. Nebim’s retail experience and know-how cannot be ignored. We can easily observe this know-how and experience in the applications specifically designed for the optical sector.     Faik Sönmez Success Story Mete Sönmez FAİK SÖNMEZ | Chairman of the Board Directors ​ “With Nebim, we use our resources more efficiently.” ​ Since 2004, we have been using Nebim software at our company at all phases from production to sales. The software that we used to have at that time didn’t completely meet the needs and expectations of our company. When we were making our selection, we looked for “a software solution that lets us control our resources in the best possible way and that helps us make fast decisions.” The software that we wanted to select had to meet all the needs of the retail sector and had to have a flexible structure. Our research showed us that Nebim’s experience in the sector is more profound than the other candidates so we preferred Nebim. ​ Could you please talk about the history of Faik Sönmez? ​ Faik Sönmez started custom tailoring in 1950, and soon became one of the most sought-after dressmakers in Istanbul. In 1972, we started applying our fitting and pattern expertise to ready-to-wear clothing. Using our experience of more than 30 years in fitting, we started preparing patterns to suit Turkish women’s measurements; our clothing as comfortable as custom-made pieces is presented with meticulous seaming, high quality fabrics and affordable prices. During the past 60 years, change has been a constant at Faik Sönmez; but our understanding of quality has remained unaltered. ​ Basic patterns that took root over the years are revised with pinpoint accuracy for each and every fabric. Starting 6 months in advance, around 1000 samples will be sewn and 400 of those will be brought into production. The garments are sewn by professionals who have been trained in our company and have worked with Faik Sönmez himself for many years. Our alteration service, available in every store, ensures the perfect fitting of the outfit just bought. With our experience of 61 years at Faik Sönmez, we know that a big size garment isn’t just a bigger version of a small size garment. All our pieces reflect that detail. “Elegance”, “simplicity”, “care for details”, in short “quality” is emphasized in our all-time classical garments. We create designs which reflect contemporary styles that will make women of size 40 and above look and feel happy and trendy. Today, we serve our customers with 32 stores and around 60 wholesale points in 12 cities of Turkey and our 2 stores in Erbil (Iraq) and Baku (Azerbaijan) as well as internet sales. ​ What were the targets that you set when you first started to implement Nebim solutions? ​ Since 2004, we have been using Nebim software at our company at all phases from production to sales. Especially in such a dynamic sector as retail, Nebim has contributed significantly to the efficient use of our resources and to our fast decision-making. ​ During the implementation, have you encountered any difficulties or any positive experiences that came as a surprise to you? ​ First of all, I must say that our team at the headquarters and Nebim staff have worked in harmony since the very beginning of the project. At all phases of the project, we organized information and training meetings for our staff at the headquarters and at the stores. With what we obtained from these meetings, we could proceed in a healthier and faster way with the project and got the results of the project in a short time. We think that one must work very carefully before each project and we put this idea into practice. ​ About three years ago, we planned to connect all our stores online. On the one hand, we made all the infrastructure ready and provided the necessary trainings, and on the other hand the Nebim team provided us with their support. So, it was possible for us to connect all our stores to the online system in half a workday. ​ What are your plans regarding Nebim for the upcoming periods? ​ At the moment, we are implementing three projects at our company: Corporate Halogen, Product Distribution and Down Payment applications. We have concluded the necessary trainings and tests and went live with these programs. In my opinion, especially the mobile applications and Nebim business intelligence solutions will increase and become more important in the near future. Our plan is to continue and to strengthen our collaboration in the upcoming period.
